1. Conscience
Your conscience says no. This is the strongest reason of all – and constitutionally protected. Article 4 of the Basic Law guarantees freedom of conscience and belief.

2. Pacifism

3. Justice
Conscription only burdens young men. Women, older people, people with disabilities – all are exempt. Neither fair nor modern.

4. Historical Responsibility
Germany learned from two world wars: "Never again war" is enshrined in the constitution. Reintroducing conscription is a historical step backward.
